How the app works, what is included, and how we handle your child’s data.
Privacy and accuracy
Is my child’s data private?
Yes. Homework data is encrypted in transit and at rest. It is used to provide grading and progress information to your family. We do not sell personal data, and you can export or delete your data from Settings.
How accurate is the grading?
You can check each question against the original homework and change a mark if it does not look right. Grading uses the subject, year group and curriculum on your child’s profile, and the feedback explains how the result was reached.
Are the photos used to train AI?
We do not use homework photos to train our own models. A photo is used to mark that piece of work and update your child’s progress, then is handled by our AI service providers during marking. We use only anonymised, aggregated information—such as question types and common errors—to improve the service; it cannot identify an individual child. See section 10 of the Terms. Automatic photo captions are on by default and can be switched off in Settings.
Learning and everyday use
Will this stop my child thinking for themselves?
Tutor Wong works through mistakes and methods step by step instead of only showing the final answer. Guided mode starts with a hint, so your child can try first. More explanation is there when they need it.
Does it work with local and international curricula?
Yes. Choose local, IB or IGCSE on your child’s profile, and marking will use the right curriculum context for local, international and bilingual programmes.
Is the feedback bilingual?
Explanations, reports and PDFs support English and Traditional Chinese. A report PDF can use a different language from the app interface.
Can my child use it on their own?
Yes. Children can use their own sign-in code and set an optional PIN. They see a simpler view for their own homework and progress.
Which subjects and year groups are covered?
Tutor Wong supports profiles from kindergarten to S6, including Chinese, English, Maths, Science and Humanities. Available subjects and marking guidance vary by year group and curriculum.
Plans and platforms
What is included in the free plan?
The free plan includes 20 gradings a month (up to 2 a day), 2 step-by-step solutions, 3 teaching videos a day, error analysis and the question bank.
Is Tutor Wong available on Android?
Yes. The Android app is a free download from Google Play. iPhone and iPad users can download it from the App Store.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Manage or cancel your subscription through the store you used to subscribe: the App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android. You do not need to contact us.
Does it work on tablets?
Yes. The app supports iPhone and iPad, plus Android phones and tablets.
Why search tutorwong as one word? What is the official name?
The display name is Tutor Wong 補習天王. Search tutorwong (one word), or go to tutorwong.com. It is also written TutorWong / tutorwong. We write Tutor Wong together with “photo homework grading” so we are not confused with private-tutor matching sites.
