What parents ask

Can't find it here? Contact us, or open More → Help & FAQ in the app for the full set of guides.

Is my child's data private?

Yes. Work is encrypted in transit and at rest, and is used only to deliver grading and progress to your family. We do not sell personal data, and you can export or delete everything from Settings.

How accurate is the grading?

The models are tuned for Hong Kong curricula and handwriting from kindergarten to S6. You can review every flagged item and override a mark by hand, and we are explicit about what the AI decided and why.

Are the photos used to train AI?

We do not use homework photos to train our own models. A photo is used to mark that piece of work and to build your child's progress picture; during marking it is sent to the AI service providers we engage, and the result comes back to the app for you to read. Only anonymised, aggregated data — question types, common error patterns — goes into improving the service, and it identifies no individual child; see section 10 of the Terms. Automatic photo captions are on by default and can be switched off in Settings.

Will this stop my child thinking for themselves?

Tutor Wong is built for learning: it explains the mistake and the method step by step, in line with what school expects — not just the final answer. In hint mode the full answer never reaches the phone, so your child has to attempt it.

Does it work for local and international streams?

Yes. Set the curriculum on your child's profile (local, IB or IGCSE) and marking follows the right standard — from aided and DSS primaries to international and bilingual programmes.

Is the feedback bilingual?

Yes — explanations, reports and PDFs all come in English and Traditional Chinese, and you can switch at any time. A report PDF's language can be set separately from the app's.

Can my child use it on their own?

Yes. Each child gets their own PIN and login code, which opens a simplified screen showing only their own homework and progress.

Which subjects and grades are covered?

19 subjects across 15 grade levels from kindergarten to S6, each with its own Hong Kong marking standard. Maths, English and Chinese are the core, alongside the sciences, humanities and eight languages.

What do I get for free?

Enough to try real homework tonight — 20 gradings a month (2 a day), 2 step-by-step solutions, 3 lesson videos a day, plus error analysis and the question bank.

When is the Android app coming?

The Android build is in internal testing and on its way to Google Play. The iOS app is available to download now.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Billing runs through the App Store, so you can cancel any time under Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. There is no need to contact us.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes — the app runs on both iPhone and iPad.
